THE LATEST VINTAGE OF OUR AWARD WINNING RIESLING
Meadowbank's relationship with Riesling dates back to the very beginning, when the very first vines were planted in our hidden valley. Over the years, our vineyard has produced some of Tasmania’s finest Rieslings and consistently received high praise from wine critics.
Both the 2018 and 2023 Riesling scored 98 points from James Halliday, while Gary Walsh called the 2020 "one of the best Rieslings I’ve tasted in quite some time" for his review on The Wine Front. The 2024 Riesling received similar praise, alongside the trophy for 'Best 2024 Vintage Wine' at the 2025 Tasmanian Wine Show!
So after a little while of being sold out, we're excited to be back with the new 2025 Meadowbank Riesling!
With a delightful balance of zesty citrus and green apple, this wine is crisp, racy and laser-focused in style. Beautiful floral aromas overlay a backbone of flinty minerality, with a mouth-watering taste that will linger well after your final sip. This is a super vibrant expression of our cool-climate vineyard and we're very excited to see how this wine continues to evolve.
The 2025 was selected from two parcels of fruit - one from Maccies Block, the other from the Top Wool Shed, and both Geisenheim 198 clone - cared for throughout the season with an eye to continuing the legacy started almost fifty years ago. We are then lucky to work with the inimitable Peter Dredge in taking that fruit and bringing it to life in liquid form. The Riesling parcels are fermented between stainless steel tanks (for refined freshness) and old French oak barrels (for complexity and texture) - the final blend produces a wine where bright acidity and a gentle kiss of residual sugar dance together in perfect harmony. A truly captivating wine that is completely and utterly delicious.

Lime, grapefruit and green apple with hints of crushed riverstone, citrus blossom, clover, sea spray, lemon zest and lighter fennel at the top, and lemongrass further back.
